The Best Rooftop Bars in Ibiza Town

TravelIbiza September 04, 2020

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being up on a rooftop, sipping cocktails to the hum of cool beats whilst the sun goes down is there?

During the summer months rooftops are the place to go to get a light breeze, enjoy the good weather and amazing views. However, roof-bars are a relatively new thing to Ibiza and although there are some fab rooftop bars dotted in various hotels all over the island, Ibiza town and the marina have only recently seen this new trend start to take shape.

Whilst Ibiza  may not have the highest rooftops it certainly has the coolest, where savvy locals and in-the-know travellers sneak up to relax and hide away from the bustle down below.

Fortunately for you, we’re based here all year-round keeping our fingers on the pulse so we can share the latest places to hang with a cocktail and a view.

Mikasa

Mikasa has fast become a favourite of ours, not only for it’s great location, beautiful decoration and attentive service, but the Dalt Vila views really are something special. The little rooftop bar, located at the top of this newly opened boutique hotel is just perfect for winding down after a day in the sun.

The cocktails are delicious, the Lebanese cuisine is a very welcome addition and is also exceptionally good. We recommend the fatayer to start, crispy light parcels of meaty joy  and the delicious taboule to accompany any of the yum mains, followed by the very naughty, but oh so good strawberries and cream dessert.

Montesol rooftop #TheLock

The Lock at the Montesol Hotel is located on the prettiest square of Ibiza town, the Vara De Rey. This pretty square has come alive since the recent pedestrianisation and is like one big Italian style piazza, always full of life come summer or winter. On  on the corner closest to the port you’ll find an Ibiza institution, the beautiful Montesol hotel, the oldest hotel on the island, renovated and reopened last year with stunning art deco features.

The restaurant Montesol Cafe restaurant on the ground floor has a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Standing tall is in the perfect spot to make the best rooftop bar with views out to Formentera and across to the Dalt Vila…

The bar opens at 8pm each night and feels like our own very own Ibiza Soho House but without the membership. Here you can dine under the stars with the Montesol Cafe’s signature menu.

Kyupiddo

Kyupiddo is nestled in the very heart of Ibiza town’s infamous Dalt Vila, right at the foot of the old fortress. This hidden rooftop gem offers an unforgettable experience thanks to the combination of our unrivalled setting with truly spectacular views and innovative Japanese Mediterranean fusion cuisine.

Here you will find great al fresco dining atop the highest point overlooking Ibiza town and the port creating a magical and truly romantic setting. The quality of the service is excellent and EC recommends the beef tartar and the fish dishes are delicious too.

S’Escalinata

Okay, so maybe we cheated a little with this last one, as technically it’s not on a rooftop per se, but with its high-up spot in the beautiful cobbled streets of Dalt Vila amongst the rooftops, we think it’s one that can pass for its amazing views alone. S’Escalinata, is a gem of a place with brightly coloured bean bags adorning the cobbled stairs outside.

Sink comfortably into one of their signature bean-bags and enjoy a wide range of culinary bites and freshly prepared fine foods. Throughout the day they offer coffees and fresh juices, and there’s a great cocktail menu with contemporary classics and some of their own cocktail creations. This little spot has become something of an attraction, a must visit place to get that perfect Instagrammable shot too.
